2017 Trends to revamp your home interior

The secret to interior decorating is knowing and mastering the trends, and this year there truly is something for everyone. If you want to stay ahead of the game, and like your home to keep up with changing styles, here’s a brief guide to the trends of 2017. So if you’re looking for a total refit, or a few simple homely additions, we’re sure this will give you a little inspiration.

Go bold

Whether you opt for a geometric print, or stick to bright block colours, bold is definitely better this year. If you’re considering block colours, dare to be different with a deep blue, grey, or purple, on the wall. Contrast with individual prints and block coloured furniture in lighter tones, for a striking room for you to enjoy.

When it comes to prints, the simple lines of geometric patterns create a sleek and modern finish. This can be reflected in your choice of wallpaper, furniture fabrics, or even soft furnishings. Combining monochrome geometric print with a contrasting block colour will really emphasize that contemporary feel.

Bring the outside in

If you love to be surrounded by nature, then consider filling your home with elements of the great outdoors. Potted plants are the best way to achieve this, whether they sit in the corner, hang from the ceilings, or cluster on top of a coffee table, this greenery is sure to create a natural and earthy vibe. You don’t need living plants to achieve the natural feel, and if you find that you simply don’t have time to maintain them, there are a number of alternative options. If you don’t fancy the real deal, fake it! You can often find fake plants that look very much like living plants, but without the need to carefully look after them. Similarly, you can buy low maintenance plants, such as cacti.

If all else fails, consider bringing plant inspired pictures, soft furnishings and fabrics in to our home.

Delicate vintage tones

The vintage look has been a popular trend for a few years now, with a few modern twists here and there, and soft, subtle and distressed tones that create a delicate and sophisticated style.  Muted colours such as greys, pinks, blues, and even browns can help achieve this look, and also consider introducing some simple, metallic pieces in gold, silver or rose-golds. Materials such as distressed wood and crushed velvet also add to the glamorous, vintage feel.

The industrial look

By introducing unpainted walls and raw materials in to your home, you can create a unique and rustic environment. Exposed brick and metalwork are extremely popular in this particular trend, and combined with simple wood furniture, and classic leather pieces, your home will be right on trend.

Customisation and upholstery

For a statement piece that perfectly suits your personality customisation is the way to go. Not only will this give you a furniture piece in the style and colour that you’re looking for, whether it’s a statement sofa, or an interesting sideboard, but it will be completely unique to you and your household. Customisation is made even if you choose to have key upholstered pieces in your home. You can revamp something old, or look to design something brand new, either way a customised and upholstered piece will provide the perfect finishing touch.
